2015 Mazda 2 SkyActiv Launched In Malaysia - RM88k

Bermaz Motor introduced the Mazda 2 in Malaysia back in 2015, presenting a competitive B-segment alternative to contenders like the Ford Fiesta and Honda City. The 2015 Mazda 2 Hatchback and Sedan models were sourced from Thailand, ensuring consistent build quality, and they shared almost identical features and specifications.

Priced at RM87,956, the 2015 Mazda 2 prices for Sedan and Hatchback defied expectations of a higher price point for cars, offering a value-for-money proposition. The vehicle featured a 1.5-liter SkyActiv-G engine, a six-speed SkyActiv-Drive gearbox, and a Drive Selection Switch with Normal and Sport modes for dynamic driving. The i-Stop Idling Stop System was incorporated for improved fuel efficiency.

Both the 2015 Mazda 2 Sedan and Hatchback, similar in size, comfortably accommodated five people. The exterior reflected Mazda's KODO design concept, and the option of an additional body kit allowed for increased personalization. Inside, the MZD Connect infotainment system, leather upholstery, and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel provided a high-end experience.

Mazda 2’s Second Facelift in 2019

The 2019 Mazda 2 facelift, which includes a number of upgrades to bring the small hatchback up to date, was unveiled by Bermaz Motor. It was its second facelift, having had its first in 2019 for less than three years. The engine lineup stays the same, with a 1.5-liter SkyActiv-G gasoline engine producing 149 Nm and 114 horsepower. At RM 103,670, the 2019 Mazda 2 facelift is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission that powers the front wheels.

This facelift has subtle styling changes, such as tiny nips and tucks at the front and back. The addition of 16-inch alloy wheels with a unique design is the main difference. Although we're not complaining because the interior continues to look fantastic overall, it does not compare favorably to other vehicles in its class.
